PORTLAND, Ore. — Customers who have financed their trucks through DaimlerChrysler Services Truck Finance or Navistar Financial Corporation will receive relief if they were impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

DaimlerChrysler Services Truck Finance says customers in affected areas will receive special assistance including "Special Circumstance" extensions and deferrals. These customers can contact the company at 800-222-4221.

Navistar Financial Corp. says its customers living in the FEMA disaster areas will be offered a two-month deferral of loan or lease payments. The payments will be moved to the end of the contract and all processing fees and deferral interest will be waived, the company reports. Navistar customers should contact their regional finance office to see if they qualify.
