STA executive director, Al Rosseker, to step down this year

REGINA, Sask. – The Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) has announced that it intends to restructure its leadership team later in 2016, which will result in Al Rosseker vacating his position as executive director.

“With input from current executive director, Al Rosseker, we will be transitioning to a new leadership position within this calendar year,” explained STA board chair Graham Newton. “(Rosseker) will be leaving the (executive director) position in late October 2016, marking nine years of diligent effort and progress with the STA.”

The STA said Rosseker would work with executives and the board to ensure a smooth transition in leadership, one the association hopes will be seamless for its membership and stakeholders.

“When I was recruited and hired by the board, I committed to between five and 10 years as (executive director), so it’s a good time to bring in some new perspectives,” said Rosseker. “The STA was established in 1937 and continues to strive to evolve and be relevant into the first decades of the 21st Century. I am quite proud of what the board and I have accomplished; I think we’ve improved truck transport, built more credibility in our organization and worked very effectively for harmonization of our industry within the west and all of Canada. But it is time for new challenges for me and an orderly succession plan for the STA.”
