STA names new executive director

REGINA, Sask. – Susan Ewart has been named the new executive director of the Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) following the announcement that Al Rosseker would step aside.

“We identified a number of potential candidates, but Susan’s experience within the STA group of companies put her ahead of the pack,” said STA board chairman Graham Newton. “She has a proven track record in management and demonstrates solid leadership values.”

Ewart served as director of insurance services for Hal Insurance, a subsidiary company for the STA, for the past four years. She also held ownership and management positions with Jordan Ewart Insurance, which she owned for more than a decade.

“Susan’s broad knowledge of insurance services, particularly in the transport sector, will ease her transition into the truck transportation world,” Newton said.

Ewart attended Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s business administration program, and holds a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation. She served on the board of the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan, the Regina Women’s Network and was president of the Regina Association of Insurance Women.

Ewart was also the recent recipient of the 2015 Women of Influence for the insurance industry.

Former STA executive director, Rosseker, will move into a senior advisor role for the association.
