HALIFAX, N.S. – Every year the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) honors a group of individuals who have made the trucking industry a better place.

The Safety to Motor Transportation Award was presented to Wayne MacNeill, risk management consultant from Sunbury Transport.

The Dispatcher of the Year Award went to 14-year dispatch veteran, Norman Peter Moore of Gerald Battist Trucking. The Good Samaritan Award belongs to Cecil Mackie, a driver with Hillman’s Transfer. The Driver of the Year Award was awarded to Carmel Lavoie, a driver for Fastrax Transport.

Finally, the Service to Industry Award was presented to a person devoting time and effort to the industry. This year’s winner was Ralph Boyd, president of the APTA. Truck News would like to thank the winners for doing their best to improve the industry.
