ELYRIA, Ohio – Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has introduced an upgraded diagnostic software program and a new remote diagnostic unit providing improved support for ABS troubleshooting.

The system is also compatible with the EC-60 Electronic Control Unit (ECU) for the ABS-6 standard and premium versions. The Bendix ACCOM 3.0 software is Microsoft Internet Explorer-based and was developed by Bendix and parent company Knorr-Bremse. The company claims it simplifies the troubleshooting process and directs the technician directly to the area requiring attention.

ACOM 3.0 provides a diagnostic trouble code window that clearly indicates the status of the system. It shows the code and where it can be found on the wiring harness, including which pins to check. It also provides a link to the online Bendix repair manual which provides step-by-step instructions for troubleshooting.

“ACOM was designed with simple, concise instructions that allow technicians to move quickly and efficiently throughout the troubleshooting process to minimize downtime,” says Kevin Romanchok, electronics product line director at Bendix CVS.

The software supports the EC-60 standard and premium tractor ECUs, as well as the Gen 4 and 5 tractor and trailer ECUs sold through Bendix (and previously Eaton), as well as the Bendix A-18 trailer ECU. ACOM 3.0 is compatible with Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP operating systems.
