No tolls here, says minister

HALIFAX, N.S. – Although a slim majority of Annapolis Valley residents are in support of a toll to help pay for the twinning of a killer highway, Transportation Minister Ron Russell will not budge.

The Tory cabinet minister says his government has no plans for any kind of toll to help pay for work on Hwy 101.

“Absolutely not,” says Russell. “Sometime, perhaps, many years hence with a different government, they may have a different perspective on it.”

Until then, Russell insists there will be no toll booths erected on the busy highway.
