TORONTO, Ont. – Kevin Shaughnessy of St. Mary’s, Ontario and Michelle Jollymore of Pefferlaw, have been selected as recipients of the Bud Barr Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship was established to ease the financial burden of young people whose parents are employed in the trucking industry. Each student will receive $2,500 from the Ontario Trucking Association.

“We are delighted to assist Kevin and Michelle in pursuing post-secondary education,” says David Bradley, president of the Ontario Trucking Association. “Each of these young people is very focused on achieving their goals.”

This is the first time funds have been presented under the auspices of this new scholarship program, unveiled at the Truck World show in the fall of 2000. n
