OAKVILLE, Ont. – The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) has selected Ted Smith as its Driver of the Year award winner.

Smith, who has enjoyed 21 years of accident-free trucking, has spent the last decade with Global Driver Services. His work assignment with Nabisco keeps him primarily focussed on the Greater Toronto Area – although he does see the occasional run to Quebec, as well.

Together with wife Cheryl and their three children, Smith makes his home in Mississauga, Ont. where he is director of the Peel County Game and Fish Association, a regular competitor in the annual Truck Driving Championships, a pianist at his church and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
