Right on, John

Dear editor,

Good for you John for writing your October editorial Insurance is out of control.

I can relate to your article all too well.

We offer services to the trucking industry and deal with insurance companies on a regular basis.

We obtain operating authorities for carriers wanting to operate in Canada and the U.S.

We also do fuel tax reporting and drivers’ log book monitoring for carriers.

Recently my clients have been telling me of increases for premiums ranging from 20 to 40 per cent.

On a more personal level we had three snowmobiles stolen from two separate locations within the same week and one was written off.

As you said in your article, we are paying for the so-called “protection of insurance” for the next three years – simply because we made a claim.

It seems that insurance is more like a savings account with no interest and huge service fees if you ever require a withdrawal.
