Smorgasbord of truck champions

TORONTO, Ont. – On Sept. 8, Canadians demonstrated their skills in a three part competition to claim the title of best at the Canadian Food Driving Championship 2001.

In the 22-foot straight truck division, the winner was Ed Penner of Flanagan Foodservice.

In the 28-foot single tandem division Patrick Walsh of Lumsden Brothers Ltd. secured first place.

In the 53-foot tandem-tandem division, John Meade of Thomson Terminals Ltd. took first place.

Contestants demonstrated their skills in a three-part competition including written examination, pre-trip vehicle inspection and an obstacle course. n
