Stemco offers new sealant tape
LONGVIEW, Tex. – STEMCO Inc. will distribute the PTFE Thread Sealant tape for its sister company Plastomer Products, a division of Goodrich Corporation.
The Teflon tape allows the quick, clean, sealing of male pipe threads and helps reduce the risk of contamination from liquid or paste sealants. Its self-lubricating qualities make joints easy to assemble and disassemble, extending the fatigue life of the sealed connection.
In other company news, STEMCO is providing a cost-effective means for balancing tires and reducing vibration in a vehicle by distributing Equal Tire Performance Products developed by International Marketing Inc.
Once inside the tire cavity, the EQUAL granules are forced across the read width and around the circumference of the tire. EQUAL then responds to force variations caused by inconsistencies within the tire, the road and load.
Tires being a fleets number two expense, STEMCO feels this product offers a solution to tire irregularities, changing road conditions, and constant wear and change to the tire that result in damage. n
