ALEXANDRIA, Va. – A week after North America’s worst terrorists attack, the vital importance of blood as a lifesaver has again been reinforced.

The NATSO Foundation – a branch of the association of America’s travel plaza and truck stop industry – announced U.S. travel plazas have come forward to assist in a nationwide blood drive initiative.

The Drive To Save Lives, sponsored by the travel plaza group, is an annual blood drive campaign, which features approximately 200 blood drives at travel plazas and truck stops nationwide.

The terrorist disaster has made The Drive To Save Lives even more crucial. Over the next two weeks, NATSO will be sponsoring blood drives in Missoula, Mont., Gary, Ind., Bakersfield, Calif., Wytheville, Va., and Amarillo, Tex.

Thirty blood drives at travel plazas have been scheduled throughout November. For a complete list of locations visit www.blooddrivecentral.org.
