Pro-Tread hits milestone with seven millionth lesson completed
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Pro-Tread, an online training tool for drivers with lessons delivered via smartphone and tablet, celebrated the completion of its seven millionth course recently.
It was completed by Ryder System driver James Ekins, who finished the Avoiding Fixed Objects lesson. Pro-Tread says its system now logs a completed lesson every 26.9 seconds.
The company says it took just 311 days to go from six million lessons delivered to seven million, averaging 3,215 lessons per day. Ryder has been using the system since 2005.
“Drivers and warehouse employees at Ryder complete approximately 200,000 hours of safety training collectively using PRO-TREAD each year,” said Sanford Hodes, senior vice-president and deputy general counsel and safety, health and security with Ryder.
For helping the company reach its milestone, Ekins will receive a leather jacket and prize basket.
