OTA accepting Driver of the Year and Truck Hero nominations

by Truck News

TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is looking for the province’s top drivers to be nominated for the 2016 Volvo Trucks-OTA Driver of the Year and the OTA-Bridgestone Truck Hero awards.

The Driver of the Year award goes to a professional transport driver both on and off the road with a collision-free driving record. The winner will receive a plaque and cheque courtesy of Volvo Trucks Canada, a trip to the OTA convention this November in Toronto and be eligible for next year’s national Canadian Trucking Alliance Driver of the Year contest.

The Truck Hero award is bestowed on a truck driver or owner-operator who had shown courage, quick thinking and integrity during an emergency or as part of their duties on the road. The winner will also be honoured during the OTA convention and receive a cash prize.

The deadline to submit nominees for the awards is May 2; nomination forms can be mailed to 555 Dixon Road, Toronto, Ont., M9W 1H8, faxed to 1-866-713-4188 or emailed to marco.beghetto@ontruck.org.
