Tandet raises money for Fort Mac relief effort

by Truck News

OAKVILLE, Ont. – Tandet Corporate, a transportation, equipment and power solutions company based in Oakville, Ont., has donated over $10,000 toward the Fort McMurray wildfire relief effort.

Tandet employees raised $2,690 for the effort, with the company matching each dollar, totalling $5,380. With the federal government also matching every dollar, that total amounts to $10,760.

“It was very inspiring to witness the generosity of our Tandet employees,” said Scott and Kirk Tilley, co-presidents of Tandet, in a release. “Canada has a great history of extending the hand that helps to other countries and citizens in need. Now the need is most important inside our own borders. You should all feel proud to know that we have helped and asked for nothing in return.”

Scott said he hopes other will follow suit and donate toward the relief effort.

All the money will be transferred to the Canadian Red Cross and distributed to those affected by the recent wildfires in the Fort McMurray region.
