DALLAS, Texas — PeopleNet and TMW Systems are teaming up on several development projects that will aim to automate workflows and improve reporting for carriers. The announcement was made at TMW’s user conference, TransForum 2011, currently underway at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

“The projects are designed to improve driver and dispatch efficiency, streamline the inspection reporting and repair process, and provide management the ability to create customized reports that include engine monitoring data,” said Randy Boyles, PeopleNet’s vice-president of tailored solutions. “These projects are the latest in our 12-year relationship with TMW Systems. Our two companies now serve 250 fleets in common, comprising more than 40,000 PeopleNet in-cab units.”

The development projects, which are currently in various stages of development and testing, include:

TMW TruckMate/PeopleNet Enhanced Automated Workflow
Designed to ensure accurate billing and improve customer service, embedded decision-tree forms combine multiple order numbers in a single manifest that queues the driver for essential delivery information. Officials say the flexibility to jump in and out of a form or go to the next applicable place in a form will increase driver efficiency.

TMT Fleet Maintenance/PeopleNet eDVIR and Vehicle Management
Officials say a number of features have been added to make the management and workflow of DVIRs more efficient, including the addition of Domicile Shop to the Inspection Ticket Grid, relevant DVIR retrieval for DOT audits, identification of “DOT critical” and non-critical inspection items, elimination of multiple records for the same defect, addition of the repair order number to the mechanic’s acknowledgement, and user-defined deletion of eDVIRs.

IDSC MatchAdvice/PeopleNet eDriver Logs
Designed to improve the accuracy of estimated-time-of-arrival calculations used in matching recommendations, Hours-of-Service from electronic logs are automatically updated and calculated in IDSC MatchAdvice for use in matching drivers with trucks and loads.

TMW Data Warehouse/PeopleNet Vehicle Management
The inclusion of Vehicle Management data into the TMW Data Warehouse reporting system is designed to expand the range of business and maintenance analytics that customers can build without the need for IT assistance, the companies announced.
