Sarasin named Canada’s champion inspector
KING CITY, Ont. – Samantha Sarasin, an Ontario Ministry of Transportation enforcement officer, is a national champion this week. She outperformed all other Canadians during the recent Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) North American Inspectors Championship, and just discovered that she came less than six points shy of North America’s grand champion title.
Sask. driver honors Humboldt victims in the stars
HUMBOLDT, Sask. – Searching for a way to remember the victims of the Humboldt tragedy, Blaine Davies is looking to the stars. The Estevan-based driver for Hyndman Transport used the International Star Registry to name a star after each one of the 16 people who lost their lives in April when the bus carrying the team was involved in a collision with a truck.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Martin Weissburg has not been the top dog at Mack Trucks for very long. He was named president June 1, succeeding Dennis Slagle who had been in the role since 2008. But Volvo Group’s senior-most executive in North America is no stranger to boardroom tables in the trucking industry.

ATHENS, Ont. -- For the third year in a row, the truck show that just might be the best kept secret in Canada, brought the eastern Ontario town of Athens to life. The local fair grounds was crammed with trucks, new and old, with some dating back the earliest years of the 20th century.
