Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ Abex brand has introduced a new series of premium brake rotors for heavy-duty vehicles.

Designed to work with the company’s Air Disc Brake pads, they’re available across eight Class 8 applications and cover about 98% of the related heavy duty market. There’s a pad and rotor combination for the most-popular Bendix, Meritor, and Wabco systems.

A protective coating known as E-Shield helps to reduce corrosion and rust, making the Abex rotors easier to remove, Abex says. Each rotor also has a directionally smooth finish to improve performance and reliability.

Common performance issues like pedal pulsations and brake noise caused by improper balance have been addressed through precision mill balance technology. The finish on each rotor also helps the seat the friction material, reducing the break-in time for pads, the company adds.
