AIR DISC PACKAGE

Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake offers a new air-disc brake package featuring an aluminum hub and the Splined Disc rotor assembly to reduce total wheel-end weight and rotor stresses. Other advantages are said to be improved thermal balance and longer brake life.

The aluminum hub/rotor option can save as much as 35 lb per wheel-end compared with other air-disc brakes, claims Bendix. The Bendix ADB22X air-disc model has consistently been shown in tests to provide stopping distances comfortably within the range of NHTSA’s proposed 20 to 30% reduction, the company claims, while virtually eliminating fade and permitting straight, stable stops.
