ALUMINUM FLATBED

The all new Phantom aluminum flatbed trailer from Fontaine Trailer Company sports a patent-pending main beam that’s different from anything you’ve seen before. It’s an extruded aluminum beam that eliminates welding between the web and the flange – the massive 12-in. flange is integral to the main beam. This virtually eliminates flexing, the company says, even when the trailer is cornering under full load. Stability promises to be much increased. Three 48-ft tandem-axle models have recently been joined by a five-axle Canadian version. In 48-ft form with an 80,000-lb beam rating, the Phantom weighs 8988 lb. Tool boxes and bulkheads are among the options.
