Bollinger electric truck

Michigan-based Bollinger Motors has announced plans to produce an all-electric Class 3 chassis-cab truck platform – the B2 Chassis Cab.

Features include a 5,000-lb payload and 10 kw on-board charger/inverter that can be used to power tools, offering a platform that could be used by emergency response vehicles, landscaping equipment, airport vehicles and more.

The two- or four-door cabs are built on the all-wheel-drive platform found in the Bollinger B1 sport utility vehicle, and the B2 pickup, and it comes in multiple wheelbase lengths.

The power comes in the form of a 120 kWh battery pack and dual motors, while there are also portal gear hubs.

The stopping power comes in the form of hydraulic antilock brakes, and the truck rides on a hydro-pneumatic self-leveling suspension and an independent front and rear suspension.

The chassis will be available to commercial outfitters in late 2021.

  • Love the idea of more electric options in the light commercial world…… but look at all the wasted space up front on this one. Surely a cab-over format would be more useful.
