Brake block features transfer-film technology

Brake Pro has a new brake block formula for transit and severe-service applications.

Rated for up to 28,600-GAWR applications, CM and CMT 24-3 brake blocks introduce transfer-film technology to Brake Pro’s line of products. The company says its CMT-24-3 brake block provides twice the compressibility and a greater surface contact area than other leading brake linings.

Rather than using traditional abrasive particles, CMT-24-3 is formulated with a combination of materials that continuously provide a layer of transfer film on the surfaces of the brake block and drum. The company says this creates a more stable friction co-efficient at all temperatures, leading to reduced wear and noise.
