Capacity offering electric shunt truck

by Today's Trucking

Capacity Trucks has built an electric terminal truck, that it showcased for the first time at ACT Expo in Anaheim, Calif.

“Our focus over the last 10 years has been on developing advanced zero emissions products that answer the evolving needs of the industry,” said Wes Downing, vice-president and general manager of Capacity Trucks. “This new EV terminal truck is a continuation of that journey and provides an efficient alternative for moving the world’s cargo.”

The truck is powered by a Hyster-Yale electric powertrain and can be spec’d with 130 kWh or 260 kWh of lithium-ion battery capacity. It can handle a regular work shift between recharges, Capacity claims. Recharging takes as little as an hour.
