This may be summer, but Cooper Tire is thinking about the colder months to come – and has introduced the Roadmaster RM258 WD regional tire, featuring added winter traction.

The tire features an open shoulder and four rows of lugs, and it’s certified with a three-peak mountain snowflake. The latter rating comes with features including shoulder notches and chevron-shaped grooves to enhance the bite in winter conditions.

The tire is designed for regional applications, and comes in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes with load range H.

Other features include curb guards and enhanced compounding. Tie bars in the shoulders keep the tread from squirming, to help with uniform wear, while stone ejectors in the tread grooves help keep small rocks from drilling into the casing.

It’s all built around four-steel-belt construction, promising multiple retreads, and the tire is backed by a six-year, two-retread warranty.
