KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Dana Corporation has released a new Dana Spicer S110 drive axle designed for Class 4-5 trucks.

The company says the S110 is ideal for a variety of truck applications including conventional vans, walk-in vans, motor homes, utility and landscape vehicles and city delivery trucks.

"The Class4-5 truck market’s demand for the features and reliability typically offered in heavy-truck axle systems has increased," says Steve Slesinski, commercial vehicle systems program manager. "This drive axle embodies Dana’s commitment to providing customers with the products and systems they need. The S110 series axle offers the superior quality, dependability and technology that Class4-5 customers expect.

The S110 is designed for configurations with axle weight ratings ranging from 10,000-lb to 14,500-lb and gross vehicle weights from 23,500-lb to 35,000-lb. It also features the company’s High Power Density (HPD) technology balancing maximum component life and impact resistance with minimal weight and cost.

Strength is also maximized by the S110’s 300-mm hypoid gearing and wheel differential, while the bolted oval axle carrier assembly, welded housing cover and flat-bottom axle housing increase ground clearance.
