Dynasys APU

Perrin Manufacturing’s Dynasys division has unveiled three new auxiliary power units (APUs) that offer ways to reduce traditional engine idling.

The Dynasys Gen 3K is an update to the Gen 2K, which already offered cooling capabilities, a 6 kW generator head, and 1 gallon per hour of fuel savings when idling. The update includes a new in-cab controller over power and environmental conditions, and it is also available as a 6 kW generator-style unit.

Meanwhile, the Dynasys EIS (Economic Inverter System) features an automotive-style HVAC system designed for fleets running from 10 to 10,000 tractor-trailers.

Rounding out the product announcements is the Dynasys 8kW developed for specialty trucks, powering everything from a roof-mounted air conditioner to an in-cab water heater. It includes a direct drive generator that eliminates belt-drive failures and delivers a high volume of power with fewer maintenance issues, the company says.
