Eaton extends warranty on manual transmission and clutch

by Truck News

GALESBURG, Mich. – New Eaton truck customers who get either a RTLO 13-speed or 18-speed transmission, a Solo Advantage clutch and Eaton-approved lubrication will now receive an additional 12 months on their warranty.

“Our rugged manual transmissions have been the trucking industry standard for years,” said David Karnes, vice-president of North American commercial vehicle sales for Eaton. “That robust design, coupled with the one of industry’s best clutches and lube offerings, has allowed us to provide our customers with these free warranty extensions.”

Extending the warranty to a seven-year/750,000-mile for the transmissions and five-year/500,000-mile for the clutch, the Eaton promotion was introduced July 1 and will remain until June 30, 2017 for all makes and models of new trucks sold in Canada and the US.

The RTLO transmissions feature a simple mainshaft without splines, with helical gears in the auxiliary section and optimized lubrication systems in select models.

The clutch stays in constant adjustment by maintaining bearing release position and has advanced vibration control technology.
