Canadian lithium-ion battery manufacturer Electrovaya says it is adding Infinity-HV batteries for commercial trucks to its product line.

The Infinity-HV systems are aimed at heavy-duty, high-voltage EV applications such as delivery trucks, construction trucks, and hybrids. The new offerings are available in HV-90 and HV-180 models, providing 35 kWh and 70 kWh, respectively.

The modular design allows them to be scaled as required. Electrovaya says they’re the longest-lasting high-voltage batteries available, with a projected 25-year lifespan in one-cycle/day applications.

The battery packs will be assembled at the company’s Canadian and U.S. plants, the Canadian one being in Mississauga, Ont. Pre-production units will begin shipping in the fourth quarter.

“We are excited to launch the Infinity-HV battery products and look forward to exploring the market opportunities. The Infinity-HV batteries offer unique performance characteristics, particularly with regards to safety and cycle life, and are the ideal energy storage technology for heavy-duty applications,” said Khadija Yazda, high-voltage systems product manager at Electrovaya.
