Goodyear named Penske Truck Leasing ‘Supplier of the Year’

AKRON, Oh. — Penske Truck Leasing Co. has named The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company its Supplier of the Year for the seventh consecutive year.

According to Penske’s vendor quality rating, Goodyear was rated first among all suppliers. The company has received the transportation service provider’s Tire Supplier of the Year for six consecutive years.

Goodyear, Penske’s primary supplier of replacement and retread tires in North America, also provides fleet management tools to lower overall tire costs.

Dave Beasley, director of Goodyear commercial tire sales, said, “We have developed an excellent supply relationship with the

Penske team, and we continuously look for ways to lower their cost-per-mile. It’s a business that we value highly.”

Penske Truck Leasing, headquartered in Reading, Pa., is a joint venture of Penske Corp. and General Electric. The transportation services provider operates more than 200,000 vehicles and serves customers from nearly 1,000 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe. Product lines include full-service leasing, contract maintenance, commercial and consumer rental, transportation and warehousing management and supply chain management solutions.
