Goodyear regional work tire ready for EVs

Goodyear is playing a role in maximizing electric vehicle (EV) range, introducing the RangeMax RSD tire for regional work vehicles that run on batteries, gas or diesel power.

The tire is equipped to handle the higher load capacities of EVs and delivers lower rolling resistance than competing products, the company says. And it’s the first regional drive tire to carry Goodyear’s “electric drive ready” designation.

“With the continued growth we’re observing in the regional EV segment, changing powertrains and fleets’ cost-savings and sustainability priorities, Goodyear recognized an opportunity to provide fleets and original equipment manufacturers with a tire designed for the unique needs of these vehicles,” said Tom Lippello, senior director – commercial marketing.

The tire is available in a 295/75R22.5 size, and features three-peak mountain snowflake and mud and snow designations, a premium casing, and an enhanced tread pattern for high-torque applications.
