Gunite Ductilite hubs weigh less

Gunite
(June 5, 2002) — Gunite says its new generation of Ductilite hubs actually weigh less than aluminum hubs designed for comparable axle ratings.
The patented casting configuration allows Gunite to offer fleets all of the advantages in reliability and durability of a cast iron hub without adding any additional weight over the comparable aluminum hub.

These new ductile iron hubs are currently available for all popular front axle applications up to 14,600 pounds GAWR. Unlike aluminum hubs, which have limited axle applications due to axle ratings, Gunite Ductilite hubs are compatible with all vehicles in a fleet regardless of axle ratings, and they are compatible with all existing wheels and drums, the company says.

Drive axle versions of this hub are being developed and will be introduced later in the year.
