Michelin adds pre-mold retreads to trailer lineup

by Today's Trucking

Michelin is rolling out two new pre-mold retreads for trailer applications.

The Michelin X Multi T-SA pre-mold retread is designed for the scrub and stresses in spread-axle and tag-axle applications, while also promising better mileage in regional and super-regional operations. The Michelin X One Line Energy T2 pre-mold retread is designed to deliver better wear and fuel savings in linehaul applications.

Michelin X Multi T-SA tires include a new rubber compound to resist scrub and wear, while a rounded solid shoulder resists aggression. Groove-bottom protectors protect against stone drilling. And they come with a 16/32-inch tread depth in six tread base width/tread widths with wings, including 185/225, 195/235, 205/245, 215/255, 225/265, and 245/285.

Meanwhile, the Michelin X One Line Energy T2 pre-mold retread offers better wear when compared to the T model that it replaces. Micro sipes and a solid shoulder combine to reduce irregular wear, while an advanced compound delivers fuel savings.

A winged tread adheres to the casing, while waved grooves help to prevent stone drilling, and wide grooves evacuate water, Michelin says. It meets SmartWay requirements and is available in a 375/425 tread base width/tread widths with wings sizes with a 13/32-inch tread depth. It will be available July 1.
