New spreaders for Fontaine Magnitude lowbeds

by Today's Trucking

Fontaine Specialized has improved its line of hydraulic equalizing spreaders on its Magnitude Series lowbed trailers.

Benefits include improved geometry to more easily raise the rear axles off the ground for convenient maneuvering, while boasting up to 25,000 lb. per axle.

“Our Magnitude Series is a truly versatile line of heavy-haul lowbed trailers, with ratings ranging from 55 to 80 tons,” said Heather Gilmer, vice-president, sales. “In addition to the enhanced hydraulic equalizing spreaders, Magnitude trailers feature a dual cam pawl gooseneck and a robust tridem bogie offering seven ride-height positions at front and rear. This heightened flexibility is invaluable for operators who need to move loads over obstacles or under bridges.”

The new EQ1 is a single axle spreader with an optional rear flip axles and ability to transfer up to 25,000 lb. The EQ2 is a tandem axle configuration with optional intermediate and rear flip axles and ability to transfer up to 50,000 lb. The EQ3 is a tridem axle spreader with integrated first axle and optional intermediate and rear flip axle and ability to transfer up to 75,000 lb.

Each spreader integrates with any Magnitude fixed or modular deck trailer.
