Paccar to offer Cummins X15N natural gas engine

Cummins X15N natural gas engines, which deliver 500 hp, will now be available in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.

When running on renewable natural gas, also known as RNG or biomethane, the engines promise to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 90% or more – and can even be carbon-negative depending on the bio-source or waste feedstock used to produce the fuel.

The engines can also deliver NOx levels lower than 2024 EPA and CARB standards.

The X15N will deliver 1,850 lb.-ft. of peak torque, and optimized performance when paired with the Eaton-Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies HD and XD transmission.
