RAM ENGINE BRAKE

The result of a two-year development project, Pacbrake has developed an integrated engine brake for the 6.7L Cummins engine platform in RAM HD trucks. It’s said to have nearly double the braking performance of what is currently offered while reducing the chance for brake fade.

The company also claims reduced foundation-brake wear that results in service intervals that are three times longer.

On the packaging front, the brake’s tight integration means no increased valve-cover heights.

Noise bylaws won’t be an issue because, unlike traditional engine brakes, the LoadLeash is said to be virtually silent. It’s slated for introduction this fall.
