SAF-Holland releases removable/replaceable Holland AAR kingpin system
MUSKEGON, Mich. – The removable and replaceable Holland 2-inch AAR kingpin system is now available for hot dip galvanized upper couplers.
Released by Saf-Holland, a manufacturer of trailer and truck suspensions, fifth wheels, landing gear and coupling products, Feb. 23, the new system features a specially machined kingpin and kingpin housing, which is welded into the upper coupler of the trailer prior to the hot dip galvanization process for complete corrosion protection.
Saf-Holland says following galvanization, the Holland AAR kingpin is secured into the housing with a special nut and collet fastener, which allows it to remain removable and replaceable over the life of the trailer.
“This new AAR kingpin system answers the OEM’s challenges of hot dip galvanizing upper coupler assemblies by allowing the kingpin to be installed after the galvanizing process,” said Jeffrey Talaga, vice-president of sales and strategic development, Americas. “This design allows for the easy removal and replacement of the kingpin for dealers, fleets and OEMs.”
The new Holland AAR kingpin system is compatible with 1/4-inch, 5/16-inch and 3/8-inch bolster plates.
