The new is said to provide high mileage, fuel efficiency, and scrub resistance for regional and emerging super-regional applications. The retread complements the previously launched X Multi Energy D drive tire.
Michelin says the SmartWay-verified retread is guaranteed to deliver 25% longer tread life than competitive retreads while providing “exceptional fuel efficiency and scrub resistance”.
The new product is also guaranteed for a second retread when retreaded on a Michelin casing by Michelin Retread Technologies dealers.
The retread features what Michelin calls a “dual energy compound”. The company says the top layer provides “exceptional” removal mileage while the bottom layer allows the tread to run cool, minimizing internal casing temperatures for low rolling resistance and extended casing life.
The new retread also features the manufacturer’s inter-locking Matrix siping, which is said to offer excellent traction and even wear.
It’s available in three tread widths: 220, 230 and 240, all with 21/32-in. tread depth.
