STEERABLE LIFT AXLES

Hendrickson’s new Composilite steerable Compliant SC series of lift axles features reduced system weight, minimized package space and a flexible tie-rod. The result should be increased payload and reduced maintenance. The Composilite SC will offer a full range of capacities including 10,000, 13,500 and 20,000 lb.

These lift axles are not, despite what you may think, made of composite material.

Hendrickson has taken tie-rod technology one step further by introducing the patent pending Compliant Tie Rod (CTR) with PerfecTrak Technology — said to be the first flexible tie-rod assembly and dampening system. It provides a resilient and impact-resistant tie-rod assembly, along with what the company calls a "robust self-centering mechanism and improved driver feel through the industry’s first ever passive steer Ackerman." It’s covered by a three-year warranty.

Later this year Hendrickson says it will complete the Composilite SC series by releasing the SCT (standard truck mount), SCW (standard weld-on trailer mount), SCO (roll-off steer), SCR (reverse steer), and the SCH (high-lift steer) models.
