Three new longhaul tires added to Firestone Classics line

by Today's Trucking

Bridgestone has introduced three new longhaul tires into its Firestone Classics tire line.

New offerings include the Firestone FS509 (steer radial), FD609 (drive radial), and FT409 (trailer radial).

The FS509 offers shoulder wear protection to extend tread life, stress relief sipes to fight irregular wear, and a continuous shoulder rig for reduced rolling resistance and long, even wear.

Highlights of the FD609 include a solid shoulder rib for even weight distribution to fight irregular wear, aggressive center lugs to improve traction, tie bars to control the movement of center tread blocks for longer tread life, and multiple gripping edges to promote wet traction.

And the trailer FT409 offers straight, flow-through grooves for smooth rib wear patterns and water evacuation, and a fuel-efficient tread design. All three feature an optimized belt package, the company says, offering durability and retreadability.
