TRAILER REFRIGERATION

Carrier Transicold has introduced two new models in its X2 series of trailer refrigeration units, the 2500 APX and 2100 APX, both featuring the APX control system. They’re said to carry the industry’s most comprehensive warranty.

With APX control, Carrier combines distributed, modular electronics for what it calls “enhanced reliability, serviceability and expandability.” The driver interface has a bright graphic display and USB connectivity for fast data transfers.

The new refrigeration units are also the first from Carrier to offer the ‘IntelliSet’ control application as a standard feature. It’s said to be a “driver friendly” way to configure optimized performance and fuel savings based on the load. With set-and-select simplicity, Carrier says, it lets drivers choose commodity settings by name from a scrolling list, helping to eliminate the chance of errors.

The warranty for 2500 APX and 2100 APX units includes 60-month/10,000-hour coverage for the microprocessor module, electronic control modules, and the clutch assembly. Major component coverage improves on Carrier’s standard X2 series warranty by one year, providing 48-month/8000-hour protection for the engine, compressor, gearbox, refrigeration coils, suction modulation valve, control display, fan shaft, solenoid valves, and more.
