TRAINING PROGRAMS

ArvinMeritor has launched a suite of Meritor ‘blended learning’ programs incorporating self-guided online learning, virtual classroom webinars, and on-site instruction. They’re aimed at heavy-duty truck operators and technicians, as well as dealers and distributors.

A ‘blended’ training program is a cost-effective, hybrid learning experience that promotes knowledge and skill retention better than any of the three types alone, says ArvinMeritor. The three elements are:

Web-based technical training – the company offers more than 100 free online seminars covering the use and preventive maintenance of its products. Detailed courses for technicians cover diagnostic and repair procedures, while courses for dealer and aftermarket parts personnel highlight product features and benefits. The programs are available any time at http://training.meritorhvs.com and take only 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

Instructor-led training — district managers across North America share their expertise and techniques through face-to-face support and hands-on instruction. Designed for technicians, managers, and train-the-trainer programs, these workshops are available at the customer’s site or at selected locations across North America. See http://training.meritorhvs.com.

Virtual classroom webinars — these are live sessions where the presenter and the audience interact over the internet, using video, sound, and graphics without the time and resources involved with sending personnel to a seminar off-site. Topics vary greatly, and ArvinMeritor archives the webinars so they can be viewed later if participants want to review material or miss a session.
