Trucker Guide app helps with trip planning

by Today's Trucking

A new Trucker Guide app is designed to help truck drivers with trip planning, and comes with a web-based companion guide.

The idea is to bring together a large community of drivers to help provide real-time status of locations on their routes, to help drivers find services, its creators say. The web version is useful for dispatchers, safety managers and fleet owners, the company says.

The app provides information on more than 65,000 places and services, including those in Canada, and also provides feeds from live road cameras and satellite views of shippers and receivers. It also indicates whether parking lots are full, and which weigh stations are open.

Low-clearance bridges and tunnels are identified and business details are available for service providers, including hours of operation.
