Trucker Path has expanded its truck parking platform to include more than 50,000 reservable parking spaces across the United States, allowing truck drivers to book overnight and long-term parking directly through the app.

The company said the new feature builds on its existing public-sourced parking availability network, which relies on real-time updates from more than 1 million active users.

“The U.S. faces a severe truck parking shortage, with availability estimated at one parking space for every 11 trucks on the road,” said Chris Oliver, chief marketing officer at Trucker Path.

“The need for easily discoverable, secure, verified parking locations is mission-critical. In addition to continuing to provide free parking availability at thousands of locations across North America, our new reservable parking network gives drivers and fleets the ability to reserve overnight and long-term parking directly within the app at more than 50,000 spots at professionally managed, secure locations.”

Trucker Path said the expansion is intended to help fleets and drivers reduce time spent searching for parking while improving safety and trip planning.

The company cited data from the American Transportation Research Institute that indicates drivers spend an average of 56 minutes per day looking for parking, resulting in six to seven hours of lost productivity each week. At the same time, the industry is facing growing cargo theft concerns, and Trucker Path says access to secure parking locations can help reduce risks tied to unattended freight and unsecured dwell times.
