TruckTax introduces online system to simplify reporting process

TORONTO, Ont. – TruckTax, a provider of online bookkeeping and tax reporting service for independent truckers, has announced the introduction of its On-Line Driver Trip Reporting System.

The Internet-based system is designed to simplify as well as reduce time and costs required by truckers and trucking companies to manage the IFTA fuel tax compliance and reporting process. With the online system, drivers can file trip reports from anywhere with Internet access.

The system is designed to reduce the paper-handling task of processing hand-written driver trip reports, eliminate the need for in-house data entry, and reduce the amount of time required by staff to process reports.

Drivers can also simplify their driver miles data collection tasks by using TruckTaxs Onboard Trip Data Capture form. Using the form, drivers enter the state/province abbreviation at each state/province exit and the last three digits of the odometer reading or total miles.

For audit verification and data integrity management, the system uses a pop-up box and issues the driver a unique data submit confirmation number with document and records retention management instructions.

Charles Chambers, vice-president or TruckTax, says that in addition to the time and costs savings, the system will deliver productivity improvement benefits to truckers and trucking companies, simplify the IFTA/IRP audit process, and reduce potential tax audit penalties.
