Wabash, Poly-Coat Systems reveal new FRP unit for sulfuric acid

by Truck News

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Wabash National Corporation announced the launch of a new Brenner brand fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) tank trailer designed to transport sulfuric acid in concentrations of up to 98% recently.

According to the company, sulfuric acid, one of the most common corrosives has been a difficult product to transport. Before its product, FRP tank inner surfaces were only qualified to handle dilute sulfuric acid at concentrations below 93%. The new FRP unit was developed in conjunction with Poly-Coat Systems, Inc., a leading industry provider of non-metallic vessels for corrosive products based in Liverpool, Texas.

The new tank trailer will be on display at the National Tank Truck Carriers’ (NTTC) Tank Truck Week in Houston, November 11–13.
