Webasto air cleaners use medical-grade media

by Today's Trucking

Webasto North America’s HFT 300 and HFT 600 high-efficiency air cleaners use medical-grade HEPA-14 filtration media, and can be installed almost anywhere inside vehicles.

Using high-velocity, twin-axial fan motors, the units boast rapid air exchange rates that can meet or exceed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

The HFT 300 delivers up to 5 cubic meters of purified air per minute or 300 cubic meters per hour, while the HFT 600 can process and clean up to 10 cubic meters of air per minute or 600 cubic meters per hour.

The HEPA-14 filters remove 99.995% of airborne particles that are at least 0.3 microns in size.

Air comes through a single port at one end of the unit, while the decontaminated air is pushed out around the unit’s circumference. An integrated monitor identifies when the filter needs to be changed, and an LED lamp notes when it’s time for maintenance.

Most of the filters should last six to 12 months before requiring a change.

Each replacement filter comes with a filter-handling tool to help contain any contaminants for disposal.

The HFT 300 and HFT 600 systems use cylindrical H14 filters. The air cleaners use integrated mounting brackets and are compatible with 12- and 24-volt electrical systems.
