WEBINARS ON HIRING

Compli, a provider of HR and compliance management software, and co-presenters from the labor law firm Fisher & Phillips LLP will offer a three-part webinar series based on key best practices in hiring. Note that these companies involved are American, so matters of Canadian law are very unlikely to be addressed.

The webinar series, which will focus on all aspects of the hiring process, will be offered in this order:

October 23: The First Step in Effective Hiring – Prepare! The series kicks off with a discussion of what is needed before you hire an employee, including implementing and using appropriate employment applications; identifying the attributes of a successful candidate; conducting an effective interview; an avoiding the legal landmines that litter the hiring process

November 14: Check, Please! Legal Use of Employment Background Checks. In the second webinar, there will be a discussion on the proper use of employment screening tools. Subjects covered will include proper interviewing techniques as well as some specifically American legal Matters to do with drug testing and the like.

December 6: Orientation & Training for New Employees: Setting the Table for Success. Hiring is one thing, but there’s more to do after that, like ensuring that new employees will succeed? In Part 3 of the series, the two companies will discuss the best ways to get the most out of your new employees in order to minimize the chances that all of your hard work in selecting these individuals will be wasted.
