Website highlights benefits of propane autogas

by Today's Trucking

The Propane Education & Research Council has created a new website to educate delivery fleets on the ways propane autogas can help fleet with service and sustainability.

The website, found at Propane.com/Delivery-Trucks, features resources, infographics, case studies and videos that detail how delivery fleets can get started with propane autogas. It also highlights the emissions reductions possibilities in converting to propane.

“Delivery fleets face unique challenges to balance business efficiency and sustainability goals. With propane autogas, it’s no longer a balancing act. Fleets can easily achieve both,” said Steve Whaley, director of autogas business development at PERC. “Today’s propane autogas engines are 90% cleaner than EPA standards. The engines provide delivery fleets with clean operation without sacrificing on range, performance, and reliability — all while lowering their operating costs. It’s a win for the fleet’s financial sustainability and for environmental sustainability.”

The website indicates many fleet owners reduce their fuel costs by 60% compared to diesel when running propane-fueled trucks.
