25 years delivering goods

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — In 1976, Canpar Transport started out with one location, six trucks and a handful of employees.

Today the fleet has grown considerably and will celebrate a quarter century in business next week. Canpar has grown to include 63 locations, 1,625 employees and 1,175 vehicles, while handling 23 million deliveries a year.

“The Canpar community shares a real sense of pride and accomplishment to achieve the milestone of our ‘silver anniversary,'” says John Cyopeck, president and chief executive officer. “The company has seen its share of good times and rough times over the years, but today we are a well-focused, successful company dedicated to one simple goal: providing the best possible service in ground-based, business-to-business courier delivery.”

In commemoration of the 25th anniversary, a special 60-page souvenir edition of the company newsletter, the Canpar Conveyor, has been reproduced and will be presented to each Canpar employee. It contains a look at Canpar today, offers highlights and “war stories” from the past and provides a photo album depicting 25 years’ worth of delivering the goods.
