COLUMBUS, Ind. – July trailer net orders were way up (37%) year over year according to the most recent State of the Industry: U.S. Trailers published by ACT Research.

Year-to-date, orders rose 44% over the same time last year.

Frank Maly, director for CV Transportation Analysis and Research at ACT said though orders went down 12% month-over-month, it was to be expected because of the season expectations. He added that cancellations have begun to rise over the last few months though it is not a cause of concern just yet.

“Long lead times will continue to be the norm, as backlogs currently commit production for the remainder of the year,” he said.
